Belongs to the Youth
Short Documentary

Eco-tourism companies in Northern Canada often operate without respectfully consulting or engaging with Indigenous communities. However, there’s a heliskiing company doing things the right way—by partnering with local communities to help educate youth on an exciting industry that needs their stewardship of the land.

On Carcross-Tagish First Nations land near Whitehorse, Indigenous youth gather to gain hands-on experience in eco-tourism through a heliskiing camp designed specifically for them—connecting them to their ancestral land while exploring new career paths.

Belongs to the Youth is a short documentary that follows their journey—showcasing how this initiative keeps Indigenous perspectives at the heart of sustainable tourism.

The film premiered at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco.
